Best dive sites and diving locations in Siquijor

Find here the best and most attractive dive sites and locations in Siquijor, how to come there and when is the best time to dive there.

When you dive in Siquijor you have an opportunity to dive some best dive sites on all sites of the island including vibrant coral gardens or steep walls. Most visited Siquijor dive locations are on a SW of the island as it is protected from NE wind (Amihan) during high season which is between January -June. However, if you face calm windy conditions during this period of the year, diving on the other parts of the island is a great reward. When it comes to rainy season, wind changes to habagat ( SW wind) and offer excellent diving conditions on the opposite side of the island. Regardless some time you need to come and dive there, it’s highly recommended take some dives on NE part of Siquijor.

Marine Sanctuary is reffered to Marine Protected Areas where no fishing and boat activities are allowed there. We use abbreviation MPA for it.

Accessibility: shore, boat. Best entry from the shore just in front of Republika Beach Bar and Dive Point
Composition: Coral slope
Depth: 3 – 22m
Current: mild if any
Marine life, most common: green and hawksbill turtle, yellow tail barracuda, dory snapper, long fin batfish, parrot, butterfly and angel fish, peacock mantis shrimp. Also frogfish, trigger fish, chevron barracuda…

Location: Bino-ongan Marine Sanctuary (Marine Protected Area), Enrique Vilaneuva.

Description: Established 2013 and run very good by MPA governance.
Accessibility: Best entry from the shore as it’s short walk and surface swim to appoint of descent at depth of 3-5m,

Composition: slope with mixed area with sand and huge coral formations. In a shallow part you find some artifical formations and coral planting spots.
Depth: 3 – 30m
Current: mild to strong
Marine life, most common: green and hawksbill turtle, surgeons, shevron barracuda, yellow and red dory snapper, triger fish, long fin batfish, in a shallow part parrot, butterfly and angel fish, Abundance of marine life on coral formations
Experience: OWD for the shallow part, else AOWD
